There is a Freeware Dashboard Widgets for Mac OS called HostsWidget that helps to add/edit IP and domains easily.

Instead of finding the hosts file (Finder => Go => Go to Folder => type /etc) every time and usually facing with the message:

The document “hosts” could not be saved. You do not have appropriate access privileges.
To view or change access privileges select the item in Finder and choose File > Get Info.

Now we can control the hosts file via a graphic User Interface program no matter whether you’re a technical guy or not.
