Browsers Take Long Time To Load Websites

It may occur on Internet Explorer (IE), Firefox and especially on Google Chrome. It always says “Resolving proxy…” in the lower-left of the Chrome window and take a while to load any website.

The issue is they are configured to access the internet via a web proxy (Automatically detect settings in the LAN settings). To fix this, we need to change the setting to improve your internet connection speed.

Here you go.

Steps to change proxy setting for Chrome and IE on Windows

  • 1. Open the Internet Options box

+ On Google Chrome: click on the wrench icon on the Google Chrome toolbar -> click Options -> go to the Under the Hood -> click on Change proxy settings… button

    Google Chrome Change Proxy Settings

    Google Chrome Change Proxy Settings

+ On Internet Explorer (ex: 7): Go to Tools -> Internet options

    IE Tool Internet Options

    IE Tool Internet Options

then click on the Connections tab

  • 2. Click on LAN settings button in the Internet Properties box
    Internet properties LAN settings

    Internet properties LAN settings

  • 3. Deselect the “Automatically detect settings” check box.
    Internet Properties Automatically detect settings

    Internet Properties Automatically detect settings

  • 4. Click OK and OK button
  • 5. Restart browser

That’s all. Few minutes to make your browsers browse faster :)
